What are Students Saying About Chi Alpha? Here's what graduates and students are saying about Chi Alpha Campus Ministries: I learned a lot about the benefits of being personally discipled and of discipling others, as well as bringing the Holy Spirit into my every day life in a radical way that affected my schoolwork, friendships, and now my marriage. — Kelly Csinsi September of 1994 I came to know Christ, and I’m still following Christ. Without Chi Alpha I’m not sure that would have happened. A lot of people fall away after meeting Christ because they don’t know how to follow him. Chi Alpha taught me how to follow Christ not only as a college student but beyond. — Chris Dollard Great fellowship and plenty of personal growth....I even found my wife at our BU XA group! — Randy Vargas It showed me how to be a disciple of Christ... and how to handle the daily issues and life issues, major, and minor, with the Word of God! Thank God for XA! — Dawn Gaylord The college environment has challenged me because I am so far away from home. I’m the only person from my family over here and I needed a family here and fortunately Chi Alpha and the church have provided me with a family. And even though I am thousands of miles from home I have a family of God here. — Mariella Buchin Chi Alpha completely changed my life. I started in college wanting to do my own thing. I began to party and was definitely on the wrong road. But, thanks to Chi Alpha, I ended up graduating motivated and willing to do God’s work and change the college university. — Jake Bourgeois That believing in Jesus means I'm a disciple. . . and being a disciple means giving my whole life to following and obeying Him. . . and the source for knowing and understanding Him is the Bible — Barbara Mallory Hoag Campus ministry was practically a "second conversion" for me. I especially learned a lot about engaging with the intellectual life in college in a way that was open/redemptive/missional (instead of the closed/conflict/isolationalist model I had previously adopted). The biggest lesson for me: That God is the lord of ALL of life and, that his "common grace" is evidenced through general revelation (in the arts, literature, philosophy, science, etc.) and that one can study both "God's Word" and "God's Works". (Thanks to GeneB himself!) — Dan Carollo Campus ministry was the most significant experience of going to college. — Eric Olson I learned about how to ask good open ended questions, something I use every day in my career. I learned more about teaching by practicing in campus ministry than I remember doing in my ed classes. In there, too, was experiencing the ups and downs of a normal Christian life with others in a safe, supportive environment; I don't know what I would have done on my own when someone I was discipling walked away from the love of Jesus. — Angie DiLoreto Enabled me to feel more connected with the campus community and gained a vision for what God wanted to do in people's lives. Up till then, it was just go to campus to attend classes and then go home. — Ken Carpenter
