Plans for the Future

We will be expanding this section, but our overall plan has five parts.

First, we are concentrating on one campus, Boston University, as a starting point. We have found the multi-campus, circuit rider approach has led to small ministries that are difficult to sustain. Once we have a large ministry at BU, we will look at expansion.

Second, we will help students begin to minister on other campuses if they come to us at BU for training and support. This allows us to support other students without abandoning our central focus.

Third, we are partnering with some of the Boston churches to help them minister to their college students.

Fourth, we have a Campus Ministry Internship that will allow us to raise up new campus missionaries to strengthen the ministry at BU as it expands and to plant new ministries on other campuses.

Fifth, we are always working with our regional leadership to recruit new campus missionaries to come into the area. We have discovered over time that each campus is very different and self-contained. Therefore, we have abandoned the earlier city-wide approach. Each campus needs an autonomous ministry. This still leaves the door open for cooperative ventures and shared resources, but each campus director needs to be able to chart his or her own course.
